Our lamps were born in the Alps, but people soon asked us for the Pyrenees. Their summits have outlines you recognise from afar, and those who love them are deeply attached to them. Here are the three Pyrenean mountain lamps in our collection, and what makes each one unique.
Pic du Midi d'Ossau, the twin peaks of Béarn
With its two points split by a notch, the Pic du Midi d'Ossau (2,884 m) towers over the Ossau valley and can be recognised from the whole Béarn plain; locals fondly call it "Jean-Pierre". A former volcano, it stands out like no other Pyrenean summit: it is this lopsided silhouette that the lamp renders.
Not to be confused with the Pic du Midi de Bigorre, its neighbour with the observatory, in the Hautes-Pyrénées: they are two different mountains.
Vignemale, the highest in the French Pyrenees
The Pique Longue of Vignemale (3,298 m) is the highest point of the French Pyrenees, on the Spanish border. Its Ossoue glacier, the largest on the French side of the range, and its dizzying north face make it a legendary summit of Pyrenean mountaineering.
The Cirque de Gavarnie, an amphitheatre of stone
A UNESCO World Heritage site together with the Monte Perdido massif, the Cirque de Gavarnie is a vast amphitheatre of walls, tiers and waterfalls — including the Grande Cascade, one of the highest in Europe. As a lamp, the relief lit from within reveals every tier of the cirque.

Like all our lamps, the Pyrenean summits are modelled from official IGN topographic data (LiDAR HD). The relief is printed in high-definition PLA, translucent once lit, then set on a pear-wood base hand-turned by L'Atelier du Mont in Le Chinaillon.
