Tour of the Oisans and Écrins

Tour of the Oisans and Écrins in relief: a 27 × 18 cm map carved from a solid block of lime wood after the real terrain (Écrins · Isère, Hautes-Alpes). The route, 194 km and 12,000 m of elevation gain, 11 to 14 days, is laser-engraved onto the milled wood, pass after pass. Each map is milled on request in our workshop in Haute-Savoie: roughing with a flat end mill, a finishing pass that follows every ridge, then the laser for the route. It comes in an A4 frame; the relief rises more than 3 cm out of it.
