Tour du Cervin in relief: a 27 × 18 cm map carved from a solid block of lime wood after the real terrain (Valais · Switzerland, Aosta Valley · Italy). The route, 145 km and 10,000 m of elevation gain, 8 to 10 days, is laser-engraved onto the milled wood, pass after pass. Each map is milled on request in our workshop in Haute-Savoie: roughing with a flat end mill, a finishing pass that follows every ridge, then the laser for the route. It comes in an A4 frame; the relief rises more than 3 cm out of it.
